The Schock family moved to Georgia when Clayton was ten and at age of eleven the family settled in South Florida when Clayton’s father was offered and accepted an employment position with a national firm.
Clayton is one of those who easily interacts with strangers and maintains numerous friendships from his travels in Arizona, Colorado, Kentucky, New York, New Jersey, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and England. Since his youth, Clayton has continuously found himself drawn to the study of history and government. After extensive discussions with family, friends, and co-workers, Clayton was universally told that he was a natural to represent the real world men, women, and children of the 20th Congressional District.
Clayton’s long-term interest in government has developed into a series of strong points of view based upon common sense rather than legalistic based form over substance. With a deep understanding of history combined with a modern technical background, Clayton joins a growing wave of working men and women who are stepping forward to return the nation to “We the People.”
Clayton and his ex-wife are blessed with a daughter, remain good friends, and are active parents who work together raising their child. Clayton’s hobbies include historical reenactments, science, gardening, and detailed leather work.
